Round & Round
Artist Statement:
Thirty-three round discs, hand carved and painted on both sides form this sculpture. Color, shadow, size and depth are joined creatively into a unifying shape. Turn it "Round and Round" to enjoy both sides! Each shape in Round and Round is hand carved using a technique called chip carving. This is my third sculpture carved in high-density urethane (HDU). The base crafted by Joe Neubert Welding and Metalwork.
About Martin Leenhouts
Minnesota sculptor and author of the book, Chip Carving Essentials, is presenting his third sculpture carved in high-density urethane (HDU). Working with HDU allows him to create large pieces suitable for outdoor display, rather than the common small, wood items, which he has chip-carved for 40 plus years. He credits and appreciates God for granting him the skill and the opportunity to share it with you!
