Artist Statement:
My passion is to have my art put smiles on faces. While creating this piece, I asked myself, “How can I get people to interact with my piece?” Look Mom! No Hams! was constructed to allow people to become part of the piece. Jump on and pretend that you are giving “Chops” a ride! Sit down and take a photo with “Chops”
About Keith Dorn
Keith Dorn was born and raised on a hobby farm in Nicollet, MN. He eventually moved to Mankato where he started his thirty-four-year career as a maintenance worker. His interest in art started in school and continued to grow as he became a father and decorated for Halloween with his children. His passion evolved into a love of designing and welding metal sculptures and using scrap metal. He offers his work through his company Dorn’s Designs and attends art festivals throughout the year, which has allowed him to turn his passion into a full-time job, while bringing smiles to many faces.
