Intended Destination
Artist Statement:
Remember when you were a kid and that helium balloon you were just handed was the most precious thing to you at that moment and then some how some way it managed to escape your grasp... Intended Destination is that moment in time when you’ve accepted the fact those balloons took flight and point to the sky as they float on.
About Clark Martinek
Clark was born a Midwestern boy and started working with metal at a young age, over the last 27 years his knowledge and passion have grown for the material. He didn’t originally set out to be a metal sculptor and his academic background leading into artistry is a bit unorthodox. With only the school of hard knocks, many valuable mentors along the way, and God to thank.
Often his art is influenced by nature and the flow of organic items showing the truth about his techniques and process. More recent sculptures show his new-found love of simplicity using a fun and more colorful side of his talents. Clark has managed to find a sculpture style within him for all ages and stages of life. Clark’s unique iron sculptures can be found in the homes of private clients around the world, art galleries in 5 states, and is currently on public display in South Dakota, Minnesota, Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, and Nebraska.
