Going Home
Artist Statement:
I created this sculpture to honor those of our nation’s military that have made the ultimate sacrifice, presenting the message that death is not defeat and that the human soul lives on in eternity. I hope Going Home will bring a ray of light and a source of comfort to all who grieve for the fallen.
About Sondra Jonson
The studio of sculptor Sondra L. Jonson has been located in rural southwest Nebraska since the 1990’s. Jonson has installed well over 100 large sculpture works across the United States and Canada in public parks, private homes, churches, hospitals, schools, Veterans’ parks, religious shrines and private corporations, including an 11 ft. tall bronze Fallen Soldier Memorial in Sioux Falls, SD.
Jonson has been an exhibitor and award winner in numerous juried art shows and outdoor sculpture shows, and her sculptures and writing have been featured in regional and national magazines. Ms. Jonson is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College and the Frudakis Academy of Art, both in Philadelphia.
