Artist Statement:

The sculptures titled Borbor are abstracted figures, imagining living bodies as a chaos of bulging tubes. This name is derived from the medical term for digestive noises, “borborygmus,” and the sound of it is meant to suggest the rumbling within the raucous, pulsing structures of life.

About Will Vannerson

Will Vannerson (b. 1981) grew up in Pensacola, Florida and earned his BFA in 2005 at Florida State University, where he studied sculpture, and his MFA from the University of Kansas in 2011. Since leaving school, he has been awarded artist residencies nationally and internationally and is currently showing outdoor works across the Midwest.
