Artist Statement:

This sculpture is all about texture. I thought I could make 3″ masonry nails look like fur. I named it at my wife’s expense. While we were walking in a nature area, she yelled out “BEAVER!” – it turned out to be an Irish Setter.

About Dale Lewis

Dale Lewis was an electrical technician and machinist who worked for a specialized machine builder. After leaving the work force, he found himself with time to experiment with making mosaic sculptures. Five years ago Dale bought equipment and started welded metal sculptures. His hobby has become a full-time obsession.
