Angel de la Guardia
Artist Statement:
Angel de la Guardia is a sculpture designed and crafted by Janesville Waldorf Pemberton's 2023-24 Advanced Metal Sculpture Class. “We wanted to make this sculpture because we are fascinated by the symmetrical chaos of a biblically accurate angel. In the bible, each time the angels appear the phrase "Be not afraid" is said. The title for our sculpture is Angel de la Guardia which translates from Spanish into Guardian Angel.”
About Janesville Waldorf Pemberton Metal Sculpture Class
This is a collaborative sculpture created by the JWP Metal Sculpture class of 2023-24. There are 9 students in the class who all had a part in making this sculpture. Previously the Metal Sculpture Class has won the People’s Choice Award and has been approved and accepted into the Mankato Art Walk for six consecutive years, making this the seventh.
