Artist Statement:

With so much going on in our world today people may be too focused on changing the past or worrying about the future. Here, we see someone contemplating their future, trying to look into the crystal ball to see what will happen, but it just twists and turns, leading us into the unknown. So as we try and look into the ball to see what the future holds, let’s just enjoy the moment.

About Dale Compton

Born and raised in Mankato, MN, Dale has always been drawn to art. In high school he worked at a custom framing gallery. This was his first true exposure to a variety of art. Dale received his B.S. degree in Art Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato and taught art for the past 20 plus years before recently moving to the Pacific Northwest. As an avid outdoor enthusiast, he always has his camera with him. It is his photos and scenes from nature that inspire his sculptures. From the geometric forms to the abstractions found outdoors, he looks to bring those into his artwork. With a focus on reclaimed materials, he aims to help keep our world a place of beauty.
