Spinosaurus
Dale Lewis
Minnesota
Materials: Mild Steel & Stainless Steel
Selling Price: $12,000
Artist Statement:
The idea to make Spinosaurus came from a National Geographic story. New fossil discoveries led scientists to redefine what Spinosaurus looked like and how he lived. Barn cleaner chain links salvaged from my cousin’s dairy farm made some fine vertebrae.
Spinosaurus is just a baby; at 25’ long, he’s half the size of an adult.
About Dale Lewis
Dale Lewis was an electrical technician and machinist who worked for a specialized machine builder. After leaving the work force, he found himself with time to experiment with making mosaic sculptures. Five years ago Dale bought equipment and started welding metal sculptures. His hobby has become a full-time obsession.
