New Paintings by Lisa Bierer,

Lisa will be exhibiting new paintings inspired by local musicians along with creating a one of a kind mural onto the 410 Project walls.

Artist Statement:
The works are a mix of abstract and portraits in more impressionist style. What I want to try is to push the impressionist into the abstract using musicians, as that is with whom I most spend my time.

I work in acrylic because it’s fast and forgiving, and I can get the effects I want from it.  I use board, canvas, glass and paper as supports.  I have done lots of different styles in my time, but I seem to have settled on mostly abstract.

Most of my best work is done when I have a clear goal in mind…a grant to fulfill, or a big commercial project to complete.  Most compelling of all though, is painting what I want to paint, to fill a gallery for an exhibition.  I think I am party-minded: the event itself inspires me as much as the desire paint.
